14th of September 2005 saw the birth of Manassu Charitable Trust. The launching ceremony was inaugurated in Thrissur at “Aakasha Paravakal Snehasramam”, Chennaipara at Peechi, by lighting of the lamp by 5 resident children. On that auspicious day, 300 inmates were given new dress (Onappudava) and a ‘grand Onasadya’ There were Bharatanatyam by Kalathilakam Aparna and caricature by Sri.
Jayaraj Warrier and Music Competition for the children. Distribution of prizes and books were marked the occasion as a grand one. Within one month of formation, Manassu adopted the family of Manikandan. |

And, in November, 2005, the Trust conducted a drawing/ painting competition for students from the LKG
to PLUS TWO standard. The winners were awarded prizes during a function where famous play back singer, Smt. P. Leela was honoured. Present on the occasion were various dignitaries like Kaviyoor Ponnamma and Speaker, Therambil Ramakrishnan, MLA. Famous music director Mohan Sitara conducted a musical program to add color to the function. The paintings that won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes were used to design New Year Greeting Cards. |

The year 2006-2007 was declared as the “Year of Love” by the Trust. The function for the same was inaugurated by the Speaker Sri. Therambil Ramakrishnan. A number of government schools were identified and deserving students were given financial assistance. One hundred wheel chairs were distributed for the needy. Many activities to give financial assistance to students and for medical assistance for the sick were undertaken. |

In August, 2006 the Trust joined hands with the Jaycees of Trichur and Wadakkanchery and undertook activities for distributing wheel chairs and for giving financial assistance for students and medical assistance for the sick and needy. The same activities were extended to Kodakara and Mala areas of Trichur district. |

During November 2006, the Trust distributed 100 mosquito nets to control the outbreak of Chicken Guinea. In November 2007, 100 wheel chairs were distributed and other artificial limbs were also distributed. |

2008 was a year when the Trust extended its activities to other areas. 20 students from government schools in Mala and Kuzhoor were given financial aid. Chirakkekode, Mannuthy and Thrissur were other places where the Trust gave aid for the needy. The treatment expenses were donated to Sainuddeen who was a chronic patient of diabetes. The trust is continuing to offer financial aid to the family which consists of a sick mother and a younger sister pursuing studies. |

2009 saw the demise of famous writer/ Director Sri.
Lohithadas who was an associate of the Trust. The trust has decided to award the “Lohithadas Award” for the best creation in the field of music, art and culture. A cash award of Rs. 55,555/- and a citation will be given. |

Marking the 4th anniversary of the Trust, the first “Lohithadas Award” was awarded to famous cine actor Sri. Thilakan. The trust also donated Rs. 25,000/- to ailing cine artist Smt. Adoor Bhavani. Smt. Sindu Lohithadas, wife of late Sri. Lohithadas was honoured during the function. The trust made numerous financial aids for students and the sick. |
